Whew! It's been awhile. I haven't been able to type since I had my arm twisted this week. Oh, nothing serious....Greg just twisted my arm once again into one of his "brilliant" ideas! You see..let me explain! Greg is a sucker for "good deals". No matter how much I try to resist, he somehow wins in the end and I am left tired, cranky,..oh and ya, broke! Over the years I have had to laugh at Greg. If you came to the door selling "one of a kind" eyebrow pluckers..Greg would have to buy them. "Oh, but Bec..They are one of a kind!!!" I can hear him right now.
Back in the day,...in house number one..(you see a trend, we are now in house number four, and that doesn't include apartment number 1 and 2. They were all great deals!!) An annoying "Pizza Hut" salesman came a knocking on my door selling those stupid coupons that you get every Tuesday in the mail for free. I still remember Greg being suckered in. He was just going with it and so excited. I bravely stood up to the dork at the door and Greg said, "Can you give us a minute?" I rolled my eyes as he rushed me to the kitchen. "Oh, Bec..come on. I will use my birthday money." I responded with.."Why would you want to spend $25 dollars of your birthday money on coupons we get for free every week and for pizza we never buy." Here's the catch. You get a free pizza. Needless to say, we payed $25 for that free pepperoni pizza!!
On to example number 2. Hold on people, we might be here awhile. Okay, never mind. I will just throw it out there. We are the proud owners of a $2000 Kerby vacuum. I think I am starting to gain some sypathy here..right?
Oh boy. I just remembered one of the first times we shared one of these special moments. This one is a doozy. When I was pregnant with Dallin, Greg and I went down to the Manti pageant like we do every year to celebrate where we went on our first date. Romantical, I know! Greg went to go get us a snow cone and was gone for an hour and a half. Oh, ya. I was freaking out. I started thinking he was abducted by one of the picketers. Even the people around us noticed how long he had been gone and started to worry with me. It was almost completely dark and the show was getting ready to start when I heard him. That's right..I heard him. He was as happy as can be whistling that stupid Christmas song that he whistles 12 months out of the year. (Calm down Becky...its so hard for me to relive these moments.) When I heard him...I knew he was okay...and so then I was ready to make it so he wasn't okay, if you get my drift. As he got closer I noticed that he was swinging a bag back and forth and had a huge grin on his face..and yes, you guessed it...NO SNOW CONE!! That my friends is when we became the proud owners of the "Living Scriptures Life Time of Debt" plan. This little man of mine was so excited because he got two free movies and a free coloring book. In return we took out a mortgage on our lives to own the entire collection of Living Scriptures..including the ones that hadn't even been made yet. Needless to say..we just paid those babies off intime for VHS to become unheard of!! Oh, and let's not forget the 18% interest!! One word: SUCKER!!!! Maybe the plastic they are wrapped in still 7 1/2 years later will be worth something!
Okay, I have a billion examples I could use but I will just get to the latest scandal. "CONCESSIONS"! And yes Jeff..I do hold you partly responsible for this one for even mentioning it to Greg! Jeff mentioned to Greg that we could sell "goodies" at a local basketball league. Greg looked at me and I said, "Um, no thank you!" Now, we aren't talking just showing up and selling the stuff. Someone..(yep, me) had to spend her entire day running around getting things for the concessions. I truly think Greg thought we'd make a killing off of this. I tried to explain to him how much money there isn't in concessions but he was beyond the point of no return. Once he hears the deal there is no turning back. He ALWAYS wins. Need less to say, I spent about $90 on stuff, plus gas, my time, and my sanity and we got there and there was a whoppin 4 fans in the stadium. No that isn't a typo. People, these kids are like 10. Parents drop them off and pick them up. By the end of the night there were maybe 25 people who came and went and we ended up selling $19 dollars worth of stuff. Poor Dallin asked for a Gatorade and I asked him if he had a buck?!? So, we are out some money. Although Mr. Happy Pants still wants to go waste 2 1/2 more hours there again next week. Yes, we laughed. But at two very different things. Greg was laughing because he is always happy and sometimes annoying and I was laughing because I was secretly picturing him being tortured in my head!!
Oh, I love my life but sometimes I wonder how I ever got married to Mr. Rogers. Don't get me wrong, I loved Mr. Rogers growing up and secretly I still do, but I don't think they ever showed that episode when Mr. Rogers spent all of his money on free coupons!! Oh, now I get it..I wondered why there was never a Mrs. Rogers! Okay, so he is a pushover..but he is my pushover! Just do me a favor, when you see us on the corner selling lemonade..please stop!!! (I better not let Greg read that last line..it might give him an idea!)

A family in need of prayers
I have no idea who this family is. I found it on a friends blog. This sweet little 9 month old boy is fighting for his life up at Primary Childrens. It took about two hours to read but you should really read this tragic story that this family is living through every day. I cried and I laughed. They have a great sense of humor. I am amazed at the strength that this couple has. I know there isn't anything I can do other than pass along their story so that they can receive the prayers that they so deserve! Greg wanted to know why I was reading it..but as a mom how can you not read their story and feel blessed to have healthy children. It could happen to anyone! I have family who have tragically gone through similar situations. So please read..and if you don't feel as though you can read it..please pray for little Charlie!!!

Uh Huh..that's right..there was an earthquake!!
**Becky will not be commenting on the recent turn of events....du, du, dum.."the earthquake". She and her family are wrapped in bubble wrap and are hiding under the table. She will not be available for comments or questions anytime soon...seeing as aftershocks and other earthquakes may occur at anytime. She would like to thank anyone who is concerned about her mental stability and her ulcers...oh and yes, she did retrieve all of the Easter candy from the candy cupboard to finish off while she waits to die under the table.

I love my Family!!!
Holy cow! Greg keeps me laughing. So, a couple of weeks ago he mentioned that he thought it would be a great invention if someone invented little things to put over your eyes to make the room dark while you slept! Hmmm..weren't those things invented like 5000 years ago? He was shocked to find out that they actually exist. He was so excited and giddy so for Valentines day I bought him a couple of pairs. Anywho...we now have a problem. Greg is convinced that that little extra material that is supposed to go over the bridge of your nose is actually there to stuff the end of your nose in, therefore resulting in a little piggy nose. He thinks it makes you breath better. (Ya, and you can also now drive a train through your nostrils!!) Now for the first time, you have the chance to see what I see when I go to bed. I normally would charge fare for this, but I am feeling very generous right now. (and I'm looking for some sympathy!) This picture was taken on Sunday. I went in to take a nap and about peed my pants instead. Greg thinks I am silly to not know that that little extra material is there to house your whole nose. We had a good laugh!! Look closely you can see how smooshed his nose is into that thing. How can that be comfortable???? Side note: I have the best video of Greg that I wish I could put on my blog but it is entirely not appropriate and so I can't but if you'd like a free showing..come on over. I swore I'd never show it to anyone and all our family and close friends have seen it. Anyways, he doesn't beleive he snores and so one night while I was reading he was snoring this crazy loud snore. He sounded like a cheetah snoring. It was this loud purring. Anyways..I hadn't looked at him and how he was laying until I got over there with the video camera. It was classic. He was sprawled across his side of the bed and his shirt was up so his beautiful abs were hanging out. I was videoing and laughing to myself just when he reached down and gave relief to an itch down below...(there..that wasn't to graphic was it?) Classic. You don't see anything on camera..but it is close..very close. I started to laugh so hard that he woke up and when Greg wakes up you better prepare yourself because he gives this look like there is a 20 ton monster standing in front of him. That is classic in and of itself. That took some getting used to those first 9 years of marriage..(we've only been married 9 1/2) I could never do it justice just telling you about it..it is something you actually have to witness. That my friends will actually cost you. I mean, seriously..I could make some serious money!! Anyways...my point of this is to really tell you how much I love my husband. Just to think I could have married someone who didn't make me laugh so hard. Thanks Begs for #1..making me laugh and keeping me entertained and #2 for letting me tell the whole world about your little quirks..because you are right..I'd probably kill you if it was the other way around!! Who am I kidding...you do tell everyone!! We're even...I'm just not as interesting as you!!!
Well, we survived the earthquake this past weekend. I hardly even felt a change. It was like it didn't even happen. Okay, so I gave into believing I was doomed to utter destruction this past weekend. I now have another ulcer and have aged 10 more years but by golly I am now feeling a little prepared for any kind of disaster. I may look like I am 75 and I also felt like if I was going to die I had to get as much Easter candy down my system as possible. Whats another 20 pounds if you are going to die...okay, but I lived..so another 20 pounds means 40 more years of dieting. I also refused to clean if I was going to be buried by my house anyways...but the house is still standing so yesterday morning was spent spick spanning my entire house. But, we did get to spend some quality time together. We headed to the museum that Dallin says is now getting boring because we go there so much...(but hellew..it is free). The boys actually had fun! We also ran into Auntie Brooke who was so nice to give us a free carwash but of course...we are the Johnsons and as we drove through the carwash we saw our reflection in the mirror and that stinkin carwash took off all of the paint on the back of our bumper so then we spent the next hour with the manager as he watched video of our car before and after to see if we were telling the truth. Anyways...they are going to fix it..but that really bites. But, Brooke thank you..the rest of the care looks nice, clean, and white again!! What an eventful weekend. And someone thought they were going to die...sheesh!!!

Du, du,du dum...DUMMMMM!
Okay, so I actually emailed the director of seismologists (or whatever they are) up at the U yesterday...and conveniently he is out of town for the next two weeks...pretty fishy, huh? Anyways I got a response from his assistant director and she said that we live in earthquake country and that we are past due...with that said she said that this weekend isn't a greater risk than any other day that we live here....but she was emailing me back from under her desk and her family was coming to pick her up to leave town....ha, ha..I crack myself up..Just kidding. She just gave another warning that because we do live in earthquake country that we should always always be prepared. So get going people...start stocking and be safe!!!! And just incase...I love all of you!!!

Earthquake
I may have to be commited. I may have to be medicated. I have finally reached my point. How, you might ask?? I am a bundle of nerves and I can't sleep. Why you might ask?? I am constantly looking around me, wondering, watching for signs. I would like to take my family and hide in a nice cushioned corner. So, now I will answer your question. I was told by a friend who was told by a friend, who was told by a friend that her uncle said there is going to be an earthquake in Utah this weekend. He supposevly has predicted earthquakes before. I know, probably a little far fetched....but, I know that we have been warned and I think it has finally hit me square on the head that I am not prepared...but that I need to be. I can't believe how this has affected me. I am usually a pretty paranoid person..lol...okay, stop laughing those who know me. I am not usally a pretty paranoid person, I am always a paranoid freak!!! There I said it! If someone told me the sky was suddenly going to turn pink, I'd probably believe it and be watching the sky until it did turn pink. Greg and I are complete opposites. Where I live in fear that my life or my families life will end at any moment, he somehow believes we live in this huge protective bubble. We could probably drive with our eyes closed and still live. Amazing. So, usually we balance each other out.....but Greg admitted this morning that he is a little freaked out! So, now I am doubly freaked out! So, here is the warning to all my friends and family just in case! I hope it doesn't happen, but I would feel bad if it did and I didn't warn ya!! In the very least, it has made me sit up and listen. I vow to be prepared if I am spared this weekend!!! Happy Earthquaking!!!

The amazing Sissel!!!
Last night was an incredible night. Greg and I had the opportunity to go to the most fabulous concert......Sissel!! Who is Sissel some of you might ask? She is the greatest singer to have ever lived. Greg and I joked last night at the concert that the angels must really miss her singing with them up in heaven. Her voice is just so pure and perfect. I have never heard anything like it. The history for me with Sissel is that my dad has been her biggest fan since she first started. We lived in Norway when I was a little girl and since that time many of my memories include some of her music playing in the background of our house. There wasn't a Saturday morning that I didn't wake up to her music. My dad was very passionate about playing her music while he made norwegian pancakes and he had one listening volume.....LOUD! We didn't appreciate it as much as teenagers but as an adult it means the world to me. I also have many memories of singing to her full blast with my sisters into our wooden spoons!! A couple of years back my dad was the wonderful orchestrator in getting Sissel to come and perform with the Tabernacle Choir. From there, the magic happened and she has been back many times. We had the opportunity the first time to attend both the concert at the Y and the broadcast with the choir and then we were also able to meet with her for brunch. What a dream come true for my dad. (He doesn't get enough credit for her coming.) All of my siblings were there and not one of us wasn't crying as she sang the songs of our childhood!!! What an amazing experience. Not only was she the most incredible singer she is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She is so kind and sincere and doesn't act as though she is above you in any way. I was really impressed with her that first time. She was so kind to my little boys, (I had just had Alex) and Dallin of course fell right inlove. Well, last night we helped my dad host some great and wonderful people. There was a reception held directly after the concert for a select few. We once again had the chance to meet Sissel. (side note...it was quite the perk to have Elder Perry in front of us in line!!! We were giddy all night) It has been years since we have seen her and when we saw her she stood up and threw her arms around me and said. "How are you and how are the boys?" I said they were wonderful and she said, "have you had anymore?" I told her we had had one more and she said, "Oh, you have three boys now?" I said yes and I told her that Dallin said he was still inlove with her. She was so cute and said, "Then I must send him a picture and sign it to him". And that's what she did. She wrote, "To Dallin, Love from Sissel". Needless to say Dallin was so excited when we got home. He had been so jealous when he couldn't come. She has quite the memory. I couldn't believe that she remembered us! I am an even bigger fan.We had so much fun. The reception didn't get over until 11:30 and we had so much fun visiting with my parents, Andrew and Brooke, and of course it was fun to see Uncle Bruce and Christine!!! (some of my parents lifelong friends!) Brooke and I had one moment where we were laughing so hard we cried!!! I had her take a picture of Greg and I and when I looked at it to approve it, I looked so fat. I made her take like three more and same thing. I determined it was because I was infront of Greg so I looked even bigger and so I took my chair half way across the room...behind Greg and that made for a funny picture. I will post those when I get them.
I am still so giddy! Thank you to my parents for allowing us to be with them last night! It was a dream come true. I find the older I get, the more I love this lady!!! It was fun to see random people that we know at the concert and to hear how they had heard of Sissel. I am so thankful to my dad for teaching us to love the music of this most incredible and wonderful angelic singer!!! I picture her singing when I get to heaven!!
